Clean Kitchen Guide

Clean Kitchen Guide

There are many concerns with the modern kitchen, this guide is focused on the equipment that is used daily to create your fuel. There have been various “innovations” over the years that have made apparent advancements in the kitchen, unfortunately some of these have been created with chemicals that are linked to an assortment of health concerns including reproductive health.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has done extensive research in the field to gather data on exactly how we should be cooking, by selecting the right brands we can begin to move towards a kitchen where the only limitations are your creative imagination and the idea of an “unhealthy” meal is unimaginable. Here are some basic recommendations we make based on our research in the EWG Data, personal experiences, and helping others in transitioning to a toxin-free kitchen through Grassfed Wellness Consulting.

THe Flipper

A plastic (or even better, rubber) spatula is among the.great inventions that have made their way into almost every household in America, unfortunately these cheap plastics are very prone to leach into the foods over extended times of exposure in high heats. Using a wooden or metal alternative is one way to avoid this exposure, what else can you do?

The Cooktop

Imagine a skillet that could cook an omelette without any lubrication (butter, oil, PAM), we have heard claims that the better your non-stick pans the better your life may be but maybe stainless or glass is the way to go. Teflon-based PTFE chemicals have been around since the 30’s and are now being linked to problems in both the environment and our body.

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee!

Coffee is a daily routine for millions of Americans, it is important that we are brewing our Joe in machines that are made majorly with stainless steel, ceramic, and and avoid those made with plastic piping to avoid the constant absorption of unnecessary disrupting chemicals by ditching your K-Cups and Mr. Coffee for a French Press or other alternatives.
